Julia began designing her own patterns early on and has taught crochet and pattern reading for many years. After 16+ years in public service, Julia decided to leave the public sector and focus her talents on marketing her crochet designs. You may have seen Fig Tree Alley at local events and fairs in the Northern California area.
Julia has been collecting
ceramic tiles and pottery for many years. Her pursuit of creative
expression and love of pottery led her to take up ceramics and she
started working in porcelain. Julia started marketing her own line of
porcelain buttons in 2007 and continues to offer her buttons for sale
in the store. She occasionally offers other ceramic pieces for sale
when time permits.
Julia has been involved in machine knitting, spinning and weaving for several years and belongs to several local guilds. With 28 years of experience crocheting and time invested in learning machine knitting, spinning, felting, dyeing, weaving and machine embroidery, Julia brings a broad range of knowledge and contacts to the business. Julia, along with her friendly staff and talented friends, assist in the store and help teach many of the classes offered.
